individual y scale control for different channels in the same plot (ala striptool)
From Sheila:
On a similar note, I would like to strongly advocate that we want the ability to have different y scales on ndscope. This is a striptool feature that really helps people to learn signal levels. Both the display of the various current values in a list on the right of the plot, and the ability to change which y scale is displayed by clicking on channels in the legend really help people to learn and work more effectively. The workaround for ndscope is to multiply each channel by a scalar; this has lead to many people (including me) being less familiar with what the actual values of channels are. For example, commissioners, operators, and anyone who locked the IFO used to know that POP18 I ERR should be flashing to a few hundred counts for a well aligned PRMI, now that we have switched to ndscope I think far fewer people remember what the values of these channels should be and that has several consequences. The scale factors are different in different templates, which adds to the difficulty of interpreting what someone is looking at /telling me.
