Excessive console messages prevent use of KVM logins

In various modes (for instance, when models fail to run), the front-end console is being constantly filled with messages about mbuf assignments, etc. (perhaps from local_dc?). This makes it impossible to log in using a local console (KVM). We must also be able to utilize the local consoles.
