Matlab 2019a no longer works on Debian 13

Matlab 2019a exits immediately on startup without any errors. There's little help online about this, but the prevailing story is that Debian 13 libraries are no longer compatible with the bundled matlab libraries, or that Debian 13 has security features that don't allow matlab binaries to run.

This is becoming a priority because we soon need to update from Debian 12 on LHO workstations.

Options include:

• go to a newer version of matlab.
• go to a different distro (Rocky Linux?)
• Keep hacking on matlab 2019a
• drop matlab as a model editor
