How much difference does changing the error tolerance in the surrogate make?

At the moment the grid sampling is based off the equivalent of using the FWHM of the exp-squared kernel. If we allow a greater amount of fault-tolerance within the model we should be able to expand the grid spacing.

There should be no serious difficulty in producing an analytic expression for how this should change.
