Unable to access gwcelery worker info in flower

When I click on celery workers in the flower dashboard I see

when normally I'd expect to see something like this

The normal behavior I've seen in our official deployment is that the "Unable to get stats" message is shown the first time you try to look at the status of a worker after deploying, but if you hit refresh you'll get the information.
