First detection, my great souvenir

text: When, in my office at LAPP, I saw the message sent by Marco Drago on 14 September 2015 12h55 about the event G184098 and asking for the confirmation that it was not a blind injection, my first thought was that, even if many checks were needed, the cWB algorithm and the LIGO detectors had seen maybe the first astrophysical signal of a gravitational wave. During the discussions and the email exchanges in the following days, I remembered often about what Ray Weiss said at the last LIGO-Virgo meeting. I was in admiration of his knowledge of physics and of his encouraging energy and enthousiasm when he asked for a detection 100 years after the Einstein prediction. One of my best souvenir of my Virgo journey started with a PhD work in 1993.
