lalinference:conda fails with "'mpi' is undefined"

In preparing the LALSuite release the lalinference:conda job is failing:\

'mpi' is undefined

Full build log is here. I've retried the job and it's still failing.

Also seems to be failing on master with the same error as well, e.g. the build here.
