Pipeline hangs when cache has missing files

I am running the py2 bypass pipeline of branch f8945901 on OzStar. The pipeline hangs and produces nothing when the file path in the cache file does not exist. It appears that either GStreamer is not generating an error, or the pipeline is unable to catch the error from GStreamer.
