#### Depreciation of Real-Time Patch/Kernel
Starting with RCG 5.0 the real time custom kernel patch was replaced with a loadable CPU isolating kernel module. This means we don't need a custom kernel anymore, but this isolation step is required to keep the system from crashing when loading/unloading modules.

#### Kernel messages cause real time delays on some systems

On our Debian 10 systems (and maybe others) a real time timing glitch can be caused when messages are printed to the kernel ring buffer log (dmesg). This can be fixed by adding kernel boot parameters `nofb vga=normal nomodeset video=vesafb:off i915.modeset=0 ` |

#### Kernel Messages Cause Real-time Delays On Some Systems (Frame Buffer)
On our Debian 10 systems (and maybe others) a model timing glitch can be caused when messages are printed to the kernel frame buffer (dmesg). This can be fixed by adding kernel boot parameters `nofb vga=normal nomodeset video=vesafb:off i915.modeset=0` which should disable the frame buffer driver causing the issue.

When booting in ***UEFI*** mode we have also observed issues related to the frame buffer. We have found that adding the kernel boot parameter `video=efifb:nowc` has resolved these issues on some systems. |
