This page describes the setup of a stand-alone RTS system, otherwise know as a "CyMAC" (cybernetic multi-input/multi-output adaptive controller)

## Hardware Configuration/Bios Settings
|
|
|
|
|
|
There are a few settings that *must* be set on a system. These must be set in the system bios, there is not standard interface, but these are generally listed under cpu settings.
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Disable hyper threading
|
|
|
* Disable speed step or turbo mode
|
|
|
|
|
|
If hyper-threading is enabled you will see intermittent timing errors. The real time models need to have stable timing and to be running on a full core, not a hardware thread sharing a core.

|

## OS and package setup
|
|
|
|
|
|
Start by [installing the base OS and enabling the CDSSoftware repositories](https://git.ligo.org/cds-packaging/docs/wikis/home).

Install the AdvLigoRTS, CyMAC support package `advligorts-cymac`:
