Miscellanous improvements to YAML parsing, debian rendering and CI

This MR fixes some issues with the YAML parsing -> Debian rendering, mainly to appease lintian, and some miscellaneous CI improvements to help debugging.

This also updates the desc_long for a bunch of packages to explicitly include the word metapackage which helps lintian understand that these packages are empty on purpose.
