Revert "Merge branch 'mcmc-comments' into 'master'"

This reverts merge request !6 (merged). I had mistakenly made the merge request from 'mcmc-comments' to 'master', when it should have been from 'mcmc-comments' to 'ligo-review'.

I'm reverting those changes now, and will be re-creating the old merge request properly.
