Detection Threshold
-
"rate of highly confident detections. Most public alerts do not survive as confident detections in the authoritative end-of-run LIGO/Virgo/KAGRA compact binary catalogs" -> why shift between 'highly' confident vs just 'confident' ? Is a difference intended? Readers who try to understand the difference will likely not get very far. -
Also, catalogs are not all end-of-run. We published a middle-of-run catalog in O3 and will do again in O4 and as far as I know we intend for the 'O4a' catalog to be authoritative. -
"network SNR threshold of 12, which roughly corresponds to the single-detector SNR threshold that is assumed for the canonical BNS range " -> this puts the reader through a guessing game (what was that single-detector threshold? why aren't they stating it?). Anything stopping us from also giving the numerical value of the single-detector threshold? Preferably also in the 'Timeline' section?
