Need instructions for switching CDS broadcasters

During today's CDS maintenance, one of the GDS broadcasters (l1daqgds1) was left offline. When the DMT servers were restarted, the DpushM processes on l1dmt0 and l1dmt1 were only listening for data on the offline broadcaster interface. The second broadcaster, l1daqgds0, remained online. tcpdump shows that the broadcast data is coming in over the second broadcast interface.

I looked through the admin guide but did not see instructions on how to get the DpushM processes on l1dmt0, l1dmt1 to listen on the alternate CDS broadcast interface.

While I agree this should be documented, I think this also needs to be a config change to the dmt-runtime-config repo. Is someone creating an MR for that change?

Also I think the documentation will be broken out into it's own repo soon. @ed-maros?

I see this was closed but there was no indication of what the resolution was. Has documentation been created, or the appropriate software changes made to support automatic switching for the broadcast streams, or was decided that this would not be addressed?

@michael.thomas sorry, my bad. According to @john.zweizig the auto-failover between the GDS broadcast streams on a single DMT host is already in place. John claims that it should happen transparently.

So I closed this issue as resolved and create a new issue #42 (closed) to track testing of this claim. @jonathan-hanks will try to do the first at LHO sometime in the next week.
