@aditya.vijaykumar the title of this MR doesn't seem to reflect the change. There are many changes to bits of the code. Could you correct the title?

Moreover, why does this delete the conditional example and add a tutorial on it? Is this related to relative binning?

Okay, I see now @colm.talbot said it includes !1182 (merged). So which one should be merged and in which order?
