Converts the read_in_result function to a class method

The function remains, but just uses the class method.

Is this failing because of an open data thing?

@colm.talbot, I'm not sure, but it seems to pass now without me having done anything.

Yeah, one of my MRs had the same issue. I think it was a temporary issue with the open data.
