Add a safety check to the time reconstruction

If the time reconstruction fails. This returns a NaN rather than breaking the run.

The time reconstruction failing means that the distance and phase will return the wrong thing. Can you disable those if this returns nan? Also, it would be good to add that the following parameters won't be reconstructed to the warning message.

@colm.talbot I don't have the time to add these extra steps. Is it better to have the whole thing fail (current behaviour) or to least have a posterior created, potentially with misleading time/distance/phase samples? If someone has the time to add extra bits I'm happy for them to do that, but I'd prefer to at least have this create sensible warning messages in the meantime.
