added sanitycheck scripts into the repo

added sanitycheck scripts into the repo. NOTE: these are not installed with setup.py and are really just housed here for convenience. These scripts are stand-alone and do not really qualify as unit-tests, but it is one of the ways I've checked things so far. Thought it would be nice to include them so that I don't have to gsiscp them back and forth between clusters.
